a black and white snow day

Last week, we woke up to a snow day.  I have a love/hate relationship with these.  Fresh snow makes the landscape so lovely.  Snow is fun to play in and take pictures of.  But snow is also cold. And messy.  And cold.

And the process of getting a toddler ready to go into the snow? Seriously, that should come with a medal.  Or at least wine.

I'm totally hoping (and praying and doing rituals I find on google) that this was the last snow of the season, but I'd be lying if I said it was all bad having it.  There is something about snow that makes me feel like a kid, and something about snow photos in black and white that especially makes my heart sing.

And, I always feel like it's a win when a photo series can involve self-portraits plus a solo shot of our pet turkey, named My Friend Turkey, who is not a fan of the snow.  He's so weird and photogenic it's perfect.

Cheers!

Ashley
